حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي السَّائِبُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، قَالَ : خَرَجْتُ مَعَ سَعْدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، إِلَى مَكَّةَ ،" فَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ حَدِيثًا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، حَتَّى رَجَعْنَا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ "

Sulayman bin Harb told us, Hammad bin Zaid told us, on the authority of Yahya bin Sa’id, he said: Al-Sa’ib bin Yazid told me, he said: I went out with Sa’d. May God be pleased with him, to Mecca, “I did not hear him narrate a hadith on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, until we returned to Medina.”
