Sunan al-Darimi – سنن الدارمي – Hadith #3051

أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الْأَعْلَى التَّيْمِيَّ ، يَقُولُ :" مَنْ أُوتِيَ مِنْ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَا يُبْكِيهِ، لَخَلِيقٌ أَنْ لَا يَكُونَ أُوتِيَ عِلْمًا يَنْفَعُهُ، لِأَنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى نَعَتَ الْعُلَمَاءَ، ثُمَّ قَرَأ : # إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ يَبْكُونَ سورة الإسراء آية 107 – 109 # "
Saeed bin Sulaiman told us, on the authority of Abu Usama, on the authority of Mas’ar, who said: I heard Abd al-A’la al-Taymi, saying: “Whoever has been given as much knowledge as Do not make him cry, for it is likely that he was not given knowledge that would benefit him, because God Almighty described the scholars, then he recited: #Indeed, those who were given knowledge, according to His saying They cry, Surah Al-Isra, verses 107-109 # “
