أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، قَالَ : سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ شَيْءٍ مِنْ الْأَهْوَاءِ، فَقَالَ :" عَلَيْكَ بِدِينِ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ، وَالْغُلَامِ فِي الْكُتَّابِ، وَالْهَ عَمَّا سِوَى ذَلِكَ "، قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ : كَثُرَ تَنَقُّلُهُ، أَيْ : يَنْتَقِلُ مِنْ رَأْيٍ إِلَى رَأْيٍ

Muhammad ibn Yusuf informed us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Ja`far ibn Burqan, on the authority of Umar ibn Abdul Aziz, he said: A man asked him about something… His desires, and he said: “You must adhere to the religion of the Bedouin, and the boy according to the book, and his god is everything else.” Abu Muhammad said: He moved frequently, that is: He moves from one opinion to another
