أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَلَفٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مَعْنٌ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ وَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْقَعِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ :" إِذَا حَدَّثْنَاكُمْ بِالْحَدِيثِ عَلَى مَعْنَاهُ، فَحَسْبُكُمْ "

Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Abi Khalaf told us, Ma’an told me, on the authority of Muawiyah bin Salih, on the authority of Al-Ala’ bin Al-Harith, on the authority of Makhoul, on the authority of Wathilah bin Al-Asqa’, may God be pleased with him, said: “If we narrate to you the hadith according to its meaning, then that is sufficient for you.”
