أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ  ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيل هُوَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ  ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الْأَحْوَلِ  ، عَمَّنْ  حَدَّثَهُ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ  ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ  ، قَالَ :" مَنْ طَلَبَ الْعِلْمَ لِأَرْبَعٍ، دَخَلَ النَّارَ أَوْ نَحْوَ هَذِهِ الْكَلِمَةِ : لِيُبَاهِيَ بِهِ الْعُلَمَاءَ، أَوْ لِيُمَارِيَ بِهِ السُّفَهَاءَ، أَوْ لِيَصْرِفَ بِهِ وُجُوهَ النَّاسِ إِلَيْهِ، أَوْ لِيَأْخُذَ بِهِ مِنْ الْأُمَرَاءِ "
Abu Ubaid Al-Qasim bin Salam told us, Abu Ismail told us, he is Ibrahim bin Sulayman Al-Muaddeeb, on the authority of Asim Al-Ahwal, on the authority of He narrated to him, on the authority of Abu Wael, on the authority of Abdullah, who said: “Whoever seeks knowledge for four days will enter Hell, or something like this word: to boast about it.” scholars, or to imitate the foolish by it, or to divert the faces of the people towards him, or to take the princes by it.”
