أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا فَرْوَةَ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ عِيسَى بْنَ مَرْيَم عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ، كَانَ يَقُولُ :" لَا تَمْنَعْ الْعِلْمَ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ فَتَأْثَمَ، وَلَا تَنْشُرْهُ عِنْدَ غَيْرِ أَهْلِهِ فَتُجَهَّلَ، وَكُنْ طَبِيبًا رَفِيقًا يَضَعُ دَوَاءَهُ حَيْثُ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ يَنْفَعُ "

Abdullah bin Saleh told us, Muawiyah told me, that Abu Farwa told him, that Jesus bin Maryam, peace be upon him, used to say: “Do not prevent “Knowledge is from its people, and you will be sinful. Do not spread it to anyone other than those who deserve it, or you will be ignorant. And be a gentle doctor who puts his medicine where he knows it will work.”
