أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ :" كُنَّا نَحْفَظُ الْحَدِيثَ، وَالْحَدِيثُ يُحْفَظُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى رَكِبْتُمْ الصَّعْبَة وَالذَّلُولَ "

Ismail bin Aban told us, he said: Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak told us, on the authority of Muammar, on the authority of Ibn Tawus, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, said: “We used to memorize hadiths, and hadiths were memorized from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, until you rode difficult and humiliating"
