حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ شَيْخٌ مِنْ آلِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ : رَأَى سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ يُكَبِّرُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ، أَيُعَذِّبُنِي اللَّهُ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ؟، قَالَ :" لَا، وَلَكِنْ يُعَذِّبُكَ اللَّهُ بِخِلَافِ السُّنَّةِ "

Qubaisa told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Abu Rabah, a sheikh from the family of Omar, who said: Sa`id bin al-Musayyab saw a man praying after the afternoon prayer. He said the two rak'ahs of takbeer, and he said to him: O Abu Muhammad, will God punish me for praying? He said: No, but God will punish you for going against the Sunnah.
