أَخْبَرَنَا شِهَابُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أُمَيٍّ ، قَالَ : مَشَوْا خَلْفَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، فَقَالَ :" عَنِّي خَفْقَ نِعَالِكُمْ، فَإِنَّهَا مُفْسِدَةٌ لِقُلُوبِ نَوْكَى الرِّجَالِ "

Shihab bin Abbad told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of an illiterate, he said: They walked behind Ali, may God be pleased with him, and he said: “The beating of your sandals is about me. For it corrupts the hearts of the noblest of men.”
