أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَ :" أَدْرَكْتُ النَّاسَ وَالنَّاسِكُ إِذَا نَسَكَ لَمْ يُعْرَفْ مِنْ قِبَلِ مَنْطِقِهِ، وَلَكِنْ يُعْرَفُ مِنْ قِبَلِ عَمَلِهِ، فَذَلِكَ الْعِلْمُ النَّافِعُ "

Suleiman bin Harb told us, on the authority of Amara bin Mihran, on the authority of Al-Hasan, he said: “I have met the people and the hermit, when he performed rituals he was not known before. His logic, but it is known by his work, for that is useful knowledge.”
