أَخْبَرَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ :" كُنْتُ آتِي بَابَ عُرْوَةَ، فَأَجْلِسُ بِالْبَابِ، وَلَوْ شِئْتُ أَنْ أَدْخُلَ لَدَخَلْتُ، وَلَكِنْ إِجْلَالًا لَهُ "
Bishr ibn al-Hakam told us, Abd al-Razzaq told us, Muammar told us, on the authority of al-Zuhri, he said: “I used to come to Urwa’s door and sit By the door, and if I wanted to enter, I would have entered, but out of respect for him.”
