  • Jami’ al-Tirmidhi – جامع الترمذي – Hadith #3997

    حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَوْ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي الأَنْصَارِ ‏
    "‏ لاَ يُحِبُّهُمْ إِلاَّ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلاَ يَبْغَضُهُمْ إِلاَّ مُنَافِقٌ مَنْ أَحَبَّهُمْ فَأَحَبَّهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَهُمْ فَأَبْغَضَهُ اللَّهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَأَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنَ الْبَرَاءِ فَقَالَ إِيَّاىَ حَدَّثَ ‏.‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏
    Narrated Shu'bah: from 'Adi bin Thabit, from Al-Bara bin 'Azib, that he heard the Prophet (ﷺ), or – he said: "The Prophet (ﷺ) said, about the Ansar: 'No one loves them except a believer, and no one hates them except a hypocrite. Whoever loves them, then Allah loves him, and whoever hates them then Allah hates him.'" So we said to him: "Did you hear this from Al-Bara?" He said: "He narrated it to me."

  • Sunan an-Nasa’i – سنن النسائي – Hadith #3738

    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏
    "‏ الْعُمْرَى جَائِزَةٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏
    Shu'bah said: "I heard Qatadah narrating from 'Ata', from Jabir that the Prophet said: 'Umra is permissible.'"

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍِ ‏:‏ ‏(‏وإنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلاَّ وَارِدُهَا ‏)‏ قَالَ يَرِدُونَهَا ثُمَّ يَصْدُرُونَ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ ‏.‏

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، بِمِثْلِهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قُلْتُ لِشُعْبَةَ إِنَّ إِسْرَائِيلَ حَدَّثَنِي عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ عَنْ مُرَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏.‏ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنَ السُّدِّيِّ مَرْفُوعًا وَلَكِنِّي عَمْدًا أَدَعُهُ ‏.‏

    Narrated Shu'bah: from As-Suffi from Murrah: "'Abdullah said: 'There is not one of you but will pass over it (19:71) – They pass over it, then they avert it based upon their deeds.'"

    حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَدِيُّ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، وَعَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ذَكَرَ أَحَدُهُمَا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ ‏
    "‏ أَنَّ جِبْرِيلَ صلى الله عليه وسلم جَعَلَ يَدُسُّ فِي فِي فِرْعَوْنَ الطِّينَ خَشْيَةَ أَنْ يَقُولَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ فَيَرْحَمَهُ اللَّهُ أَوْ خَشْيَةَ أَنْ يَرْحَمَهُ اللَّهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ‏.‏
    Narrated Shu'bah: "'Adi bin Thabit and 'Ata bin As-Sa'ib informed me, from Sa'eed bin Jubair, from Ibn 'Abbas – and one of them mentioned that it was from the Prophet (ﷺ) – that he mentioned that Jibra'il began shoving clay in the mouth of Fir'awn out of fear that he would say La Ilaha Illallah and Allah would have mercy upon him – or fearing that Allah would have mercy upon him."

  • Jami’ al-Tirmidhi – جامع الترمذي – Hadith #2796

    حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ، وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَرَّ بِنَاسٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ وَهُمْ جُلُوسٌ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَقَالَ ‏
    "‏ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لاَ بُدَّ فَاعِلِينَ فَرُدُّوا السَّلاَمَ وَأَعِينُوا الْمَظْلُومَ وَاهْدُوا السَّبِيلَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي شُرَيْحٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ ‏.‏
    Narrated Shu'bah: "From Abu Ishaq, from Al-Bara – and he did not hear it from him – the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by some people from the Ansar while they were sitting in the road. He said: 'If you people must do this, then return the Salam, assist the wronged, and give directions to the one who is on the route."

    أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لأَبِي إِيَاسٍ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ قُرَّةَ أَسَمِعْتَ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏
    "‏ ابْنُ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ نَعَمْ ‏.‏
    Shu'bah said: "I said to Abu Iyas Mu'awiyah bin Qurrah: 'Did you hear Ans bin Malik say: The Messenger of Allah said: The son of the daughter of a people is one of them? He said: 'Yes."'

    أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَيَّارُ بْنُ سَلاَمَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَسْأَلُ أَبَا بَرْزَةَ، عَنْ صَلاَةِ، رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قُلْتُ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ قَالَ كَمَا أَسْمَعُكَ السَّاعَةَ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَسْأَلُ عَنْ صَلاَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ كَانَ لاَ يُبَالِي بَعْضَ تَأْخِيرِهَا – يَعْنِي الْعِشَاءَ – إِلَى نِصْفِ اللَّيْلِ وَلاَ يُحِبُّ النَّوْمَ قَبْلَهَا وَلاَ الْحَدِيثَ بَعْدَهَا ‏.‏ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُهُ بَعْدُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ قَالَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ حِينَ تَزُولُ الشَّمْسُ وَالْعَصْرَ يَذْهَبُ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ وَالشَّمْسُ حَيَّةٌ وَالْمَغْرِبَ لاَ أَدْرِي أَىَّ حِينٍ ذَكَرَ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُهُ بَعْدُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي الصُّبْحَ فَيَنْصَرِفُ الرَّجُلُ فَيَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَجْهِ جَلِيسِهِ الَّذِي يَعْرِفُهُ فَيَعْرِفُهُ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِيهَا بِالسِّتِّينَ إِلَى الْمِائَةِ ‏.‏
    Shu'bah said: "Sayyar bin Salamah, narrated to us, he said: 'I heard my father ask Abu Barzah about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).' I said: 'Did you really hear him?' He said: 'As I can hear you now.' He said: 'I heard my father ask about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).' He said: 'He would not mind if he delayed it – meaning 'Isha' until midnight, and he did not like to sleep before it or speak after it.'" Shu'bah said: "Then I met him later on and asked him. He said: 'He used to pray Zauhr when the sun had passed its zenith, and (he would pray) 'Asr and a man could walk to the farthest point in Al-Madinah and the sun would still be clear and hot. And Maghrib, I do not know the time he mentioned.' After that I met him and asked him, and he said: 'He used to pray Fajr then after the prayer a man could regarding it, sitting next to him, look at the face of someone he knew and he could recognize it.' He said: 'And he used to recite in it between sixty and one hundred (verses).'"
