Hadith Source is an independent reference project created to make well-known hadith collections easier to search and read in Arabic and English. It brings source text, available translations, collection names, chapter context, narrator information and hadith numbering together in a consistent format.

Our purpose

Our purpose is educational and documentary. Readers often remember a phrase, narrator or subject but not the exact reference. The catalogue is designed to help locate that reference before continuing study with qualified teachers, printed critical editions and specialist resources.

How material is presented

Entries preserve collection and numbering information supplied with the source dataset. Arabic text and available English translations are shown separately. We do not present our own interpretation as part of the source text.

Numbering, chapter divisions and translation wording can differ between editions. Readers doing academic, legal or devotional research should verify a narration against the cited collection and a trusted edition.

Editorial responsibility

Hadith Source is a reference index, not a fatwa service and not a substitute for qualified religious scholarship. The presence of a narration does not by itself establish how it should be interpreted or applied.

We review formatting, broken markup, attribution fields and navigation as the catalogue is maintained. If you find a transcription, translation, attribution or numbering issue, send the exact page URL and a description through our contact page.

Transparency

We aim to distinguish source material from explanatory website text and correct verified errors. Hadith Source does not claim ownership of classical Arabic source texts. Translation rights remain with their respective owners where applicable.
