Collection records

Each entry is associated with a named hadith collection and, when available, its book, chapter, narrator and reference number. The Arabic wording and English translation are kept in separate fields so readers can compare them.

Numbering and editions

Hadith numbering is not universal. Publishers and digital databases sometimes divide books or narrations differently. The number displayed here should be read together with the collection and chapter title, not as a universal identifier.

Translations

Translations communicate meaning but may not reproduce every linguistic nuance. Hadith Source does not silently modernize quoted translations. Where a translation appears incomplete or incorrect, we investigate the source record before making a correction.

Authenticity and interpretation

A collection name, page listing or search result is not an independent ruling about authenticity or legal application. Evaluating chains of transmission, variant wordings and jurisprudential implications requires specialist knowledge. Readers should consult recognized scholarship for those questions.

Corrections

Reports should include the page URL, collection name, displayed reference number, the suspected error and a reliable comparison source. Verified formatting and data errors are corrected as part of ongoing maintenance.
